Learn and Grow Through the Craft of Theatre

Our two-week mini-camps offer young performers the opportunity to hone their skills as actors and singers. Each student will receive personalized and ensemble instruction regardless of skill or experience level. Each session will culminate with a public showcase performance, featuring monologues, scenes, songs, and a 10-minute musical. Students may participate in just one or both sessions.

Sessions run from 9am-3pm, Monday-Friday, open to ages 10-18.

Participants will develop their confidence and communication skills through a variety of acting and improvisation experiences. Improv and theatre games will support creativity and imagination, in a fun and relaxed way that helps to ease the fear of improvisational performance. Students will work toward strengthening their concentrated listening and truthful responsive skills.

Through script study and scene preparation, students will develop their own style as we explore the various combinations of techniques designed to allow them to fully explore the who, what, why, and where. Development of these critical skills will allow the student to really begin to understand the meaning of “keeping it real!” We will begin to address character development and scene interpretation, both in group scenes and optional monologues. Individual coaching opportunities may also be available during breakouts.

Students will also participate in group vocal classes, where they will develop healthy vocal tone production for both classical and belting style singing as applicable to their individual voices, improve breathing techniques, enhance their ensemble listening and singing skills, and analyze musical scoring and composition techniques to inform their performance choices. Those who choose to perform solos or wish to deepen their solo performance skills may also participate in individual coaching sessions during breakouts.
